These are the products you should use

Hair care routine

  1. Shampoo: The most important hair care product is shampoo. It cleans your scalp and hair and frees it from grease and styling residues.
  2. Conditioner: Afterwards a conditioner is recommended, this makes your hair easier to comb and provides a healthy shine.
  3. Hair mask: 1-2 times a week you should also use a hair mask. This will give your hair an extra dose of care.
  4. Heat protection: After washing, a heat protection product is recommended. This will ensure that your hair does not get any heat damage from styling with a hairdryer or straightener.
  5. Hair oil: Before you style your hair, you can optionally apply a hair oil to your ends. This nourishes your hair and gives it a beautiful shine.

Coloured or lightened hair

If you have coloured or lightened hair, you should use care products that preserve the colour of your hair. For lightened hair, there are special blonde shampoos that conjure up a beautiful blonde shade that does not look yellowish. In general, you should make sure to stress your hair as little as possible.

Hair Health

Dr. Anne Latz

"To strengthen hair health, it is a good idea to get to the root of the problem. Good blood circulation in the scalp is a prerequisite for healthy hair growth - because only then can the individual hairs be adequately nourished."

Causes of hair loss

Hair loss is favoured when the hair root and the scalp are not in balance. But do not panic. Hair loss alone is not a cause for concern, because losing 100 hairs a day is normal. However, if you are losing clumps of hair, be sure to talk to your doctor about it. Possible causes of hair loss can be: Genetic predisposition, hormonal imbalance, infections, nutrient deficiencies, unhealthy lifestyle or overuse of hair due to styling, bleaching or similar.

Nutrients for beautiful and healthy hair

If you want beautiful and healthy hair, you should take care of your hair from the root, i.e. with a healthy and balanced diet. Because both the hair roots and the scalp need vitamins and minerals. Vitamins and minerals such as zinc, biotin, vitamin C and vitamin E are particularly important. There are also some foods that help strengthen blood vessels, such as apples, black plums, dried blueberries, cranberries, chia seeds, onions, peppermint, sesame, pumpkin or sunflower seeds. In fact, a good blood supply to the scalp is essential for hair health.

These are the different hair types

Brittle and dry hair: Brittle hair can be recognised by the fact that the outer cuticle of the hair is roughened and attacked. The hair feels brittle, is difficult to comb and lacks shine. It occurs when the sebaceous glands on the scalp no longer release enough grease into the hair lengths and tips.

Oily hair: Oily hair is a reaction of the sebaceous glands, which produce too much oil. The worst case is that the sebum suffocates the hair root, which can lead to accelerated hair loss or dandruff. Reasons for this can be hereditary predisposition, unhealthy diet but also hormonal changes or stress. Tips: Use a dry shampoo or a scalp scrub with healing clay.

Fine hair:
Fine hair is often silky and hardly noticeable when rubbed between the fingers. After washing, it dries very quickly on its own and usually lies down flat. In fine hair, the diameter of each hair is very small, while thin hair refers to the number of hairs on the scalp. People with fine hair, should be careful to use care products that do not weigh down the hair even more but give it volume.

Split ends: Split ends depend on the stress on the hair. Due to dryness, the hair ends then split. The more stressed the hair, the greater the likelihood of splitting the tips. Fine hair, as well as long hair, is more sensitive and prone to split ends.
